Hip problems can keep you from living your best life. Fortunately, great care for all kinds of hip issues is available right here at Olympic Medical Center. We've invested in state-of-the-art technology and a team of orthopedic experts who are fellowship-trained in hip care. Our goal is to give you the best possible treatment for hip issues, close to home.

What to expect from our hip doctors

Hip pain and stiffness can have a number of causes, including arthritis, fractures, or muscle or tendon issues. The first thing our team will do when you visit us is to thoroughly evaluate you and determine what's causing your symptoms. Based on that evaluation, we will recommend a treatment plan designed for you.

Nonsurgical treatments. Whenever possible, we'll try to treat your hip pain without surgery, using options such as:

  • Anti-inflammatory medications.
  • Cortisone injections.
  • Physical therapy.
  • Platelet-rich plasma injections.

Hip surgery. If hip surgery is the right choice, you have access to the latest technology and skilled, fellowship-trained surgeons right here on the North Olympic Peninsula. Procedures our hip surgeons perform include:

  • Arthroscopic surgery, a minimally invasive procedure that uses a small incision to allow the surgeon to repair or remove damaged tissue. Arthroscopic surgery leads to less pain and scarring than traditional, open procedures. That means patients may have a quicker recovery and return to activity.
  • Total hip replacement. Our team uses a robotic-assisted surgical system that improves patient outcomes when compared to traditional methods. The system helps surgeons make more accurate cuts. It eliminates the need for metal rods, and additional CT scans and MRIs.

Regardless of the treatment plan you receive, our experts will be there with you all the way through recovery and will coordinate with other experts, like physical therapists, to make sure you get the results you're looking for.
