30 Apr OMC Announces Vickie Swanson, RN, as New Chief Nursing Officer
Swanson, who served as OMC’s Interim CNO since November 2020, has nursing and leadership experience spanning surgery, long-term care, home health, operations, education and consulting.

Darryl Wolfe, Olympic Medical Center chief executive officer, announced the appointment of Vickie Swanson, MSN-HCSM, RN CENP, CNOR, to the role of OMC’s Chief Nursing Officer.
“Vickie has been registered nurse since 1986 and has served in a variety of roles over her career. While they were all clinical in nature, Vickie brings a strong business acumen that will also serve OMC well,” says Wolfe.
As chief nursing officer, Swanson will lead all aspects of nursing practice to ensure the quality, safety and successful execution of strategic initiatives across OMC. Together with the executive team, Swanson will review and champion quality, safety and operational initiatives to meet the needs of OMC’s patients, families, staff and the community.”
Most recently, Swanson served as OMC’s Interim CNO since November 2020. According to Wolfe, Swanson “did an amazing job in the interim role” and, after an extensive and competitive nationwide search, she was selected for the position.
Before joining the leadership team, Swanson was the Director of Surgical Services at OMC, joining the organization in 2018. In that role, she was recognized with a leadership award for supporting OMC’s strategic plan and helping surgical services rise to the next level.
According to Wolfe, Swanson has been described as a “boots-on-the-ground” leader who has integrated herself with the staff, often jumping in to help in any role needed. Additionally, her team described her as a champion of change and a true advocate for them.
Swanson’s nursing and leadership experience spans surgery, long-term care, home health, operations, education and consulting at organizations such as Deloitte and Touche, Florida Hospital, JA Thomas, Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences, Mederi Home Health Agency and the State of Florida.
Swanson joins the executive team at OMC, which includes Darryl Wolfe, chief executive officer; Lorraine Cannon, chief financial officer; Scott Kennedy, MD, chief medical officer; Josh Jones, MD, chief physician officer; Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resources officer and general counsel; and Donna Davison, risk and compliance officer.
