Matters of the Heart

At Olympic Medical Heart Center, our goal is simple: to keep your heart as healthy as possible so that you can live your best life, enjoying all your favorite activities. We meet that goal by offering comprehensive cardiac care—from state-of-the-art diagnostic testing through treatment and rehabilitation. If you need a highly specialized procedure, our affiliation with Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute—the region’s leading cardiovascular care center—gives you direct access to experts in the most complex conditions.

As a part of the North Olympic Peninsula community, we’re dedicated to providing high quality, personalized cardiac care for our neighbors, friends and families. That means we work closely with board-certified cardiologists and your primary care provider to ensure that your diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care are seamlessly coordinated—something that’s critical when it comes to matters of the heart.

Cardiac Rhythm Management

Olympic Medical Heart Center’s Cardiac Rhythm Management offers local access and coordinated care for your cardiac device needs right here in your community. We work with board-certified internist Robert Gipe, MD, who specializes in Cardiac Rhythm Management. Dr. Gipe implants pacemakers, implanted loop recorders (ILR) and implanted cardiac defibrillators (ICD). Remote follow-up and monitoring can provide earlier detection of new arrhythmias or device issues. The same familiar team also coordinates your device management when preparing for surgery and determines if and when your device is eligible for MRI.

Our Cardiac Rhythm Management staff currently provides support and monitoring of all major device brands such as St. Jude Medical, Medtronic, Biotronik and Boston Scientific to over 700 patients. Over half of those patients enjoy the convenience of remote monitoring.

Services are available in Port Angeles from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and in Sequim from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Tuesdays. For more information, please call (360) 565-9360.
