27 Jul Sequim Walk-in Clinic Hours Updated
The Walk-in Clinic in Sequim is now operating three days per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Medical Services Building at 840 N. 5th Avenue. The Walk-in Clinic in Port Angeles remains open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The temporary change in hours is needed due to a workforce shortage in this area, particularly for walk-in clinic providers. “We know how much the community of Sequim appreciates the convenient access to same-day primary care,” says Naffie Ceesay, MD, clinical director of the Walk-in Clinics.
A new provider has joined the service and recruitment continues. “We anticipate we will be able to reopen the clinic to five days a week again here in a few months,” notes Dr. Ceesay.
The Walk-in Clinic offers same-day primary care access, with availability to treat a variety of non-emergent and non-urgent medical conditions, including minor cuts and wounds, sprains, respiratory infections, asthma symptoms, urinary symptoms, temporary refills (except opioids and benzodiazepines), skin rashes and school-related physicals. While wait times can vary, patients are seen in the order of arrival. There are patients who may be pulled into clinic based on the nature of their visit needing an assessment, allowing us to determine if they are in the right place for treatment or whether imaging needs to be obtained in advance.
Individuals concerned about a potential medical emergency should seek care at the nearest emergency room or dial 911. This includes patients with complex chronic conditions or symptoms, even more so for elderly individuals.
