I collaborate with the patient to determine a treatment plan that aims to provide the best long-term solution to their problem.
On Orthopaedic Surgery I chose to subspecialize in joint replacement surgery because hip and knee replacement patients enjoy some of the best treatment outcomes in all of western medicine. Typically, there is a very clear relief from suffering after surgery, and this is a very rewarding aspect of the job.
I enjoy being able to make a positive change in my patients’ lives. Having grown up on Vancouver Island, I feel like moving to Port Angeles was like moving home. My family is close by, and I love the outdoor lifestyle here.
My former life was as an athlete. I participated in two Olympic Games and won a silver medal in the sport of rowing. I’ve become involved in crew in the community, and otherwise enjoy cycling, skiing, and occasionally picking up the guitar.
My practice is focused on treating degenerative hip and knee problems and failed prior joint replacement surgery. I focus on non-operative treatment first, then operative intervention at the right time for the individual patient.
