About Me and My Practice
What led you to choose a career as a healthcare provider?
Family medicine has always been intriguing to me ever since I was young. In fact, my primary care doctor essentially saved my life when I was a teenager, and this led me to a career in healthcare.
What is a fact about yourself that your patients might be surprised to learn?
I had bubonic plague when I was in high school (which was diagnosed by my primary care doctor).
What can patients expect from a visit with you?
Patients can expect a smile (even though covered by a mask), an ear that will listen, and time to discuss their concerns and treatment options.
What do you find most rewarding about working with patients?
I enjoy the fact that we all share a common bond through our humanity and that being able to help and serve others through providing healthcare is both rewarding and humbling.
What drew you to Olympic Medical Center and the Olympic Peninsula?
About 12 years ago my family and I were camping near Sequim, and I made a statement to my wife that we should move to the Olympic Peninsula. I was actually serious at the time even though we had no friends, family, or jobs in the area. Eleven years later we made the decision to move to the Peninsula to pursue our careers in healthcare and to be closer to family that moved into the area. It is a beautiful area and we are excited to be here.
How do you feel your training and experience can serve Olympic Medical Center and its patients?
I feel that I bring great previous experience in working at other rural hospitals and understanding the unique needs and challenges of healthcare in a rural setting.
What do you find most interesting about working in a walk-in clinic?
Every day is different and unique as one never knows who will come to be seen. I enjoy the variety that each day offers as well as being able to people across the entire life span. We can see and treat a variety of both chronic and acute conditions at the Walk-In Clinic that are non-emergent. If you can’t make it to see your primary care provider, it is a great place to go for most things.
How do you enjoy spending your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my bride and three children. We love lakes and rivers and always want to be either in or on the water. I also enjoy mountain biking and trail running. I am a huge soccer fan and enjoy both playing and coaching soccer. I had the privilege of winning two high school state boys soccer titles as coach.
