On Patients: I consider myself a teacher who presents advice based on scientific reasoning balanced with the individual needs of those for whom I am providing care. No matter what patients or families choose to do with that information, I am honored to be a part of their journey.
On Pediatrics: Kids are strong, courageous, inquisitive, mischievous, creative, fun, innocent, bold, explorers, tough, playful, cool, shy, optimistic, musicians, painters, future scientists, future writers, our futures, our destinies, dreamers, pretenders, inventers, athletes, gamers, book nerds, star gazers, puddle jumpers, treasure at the end of the rainbow chasers, wanderers, the police force of chaos and the sanctity of family. They will fall, but when they get back up, it lifts us all up. I am just here to help dust them off every once in a while…
About Me: I came to medicine for the science; I stayed for the humanity. Life is hard and filled with uncertainty, fear and unplanned obstacles. Sometimes the best medicine is just as simple as letting someone know they are not going through it alone.
Personal Information: I enjoy getting outdoors through hiking, camping, fishing and cycling. But on those rainy days, you can also find me playing bass, piano, cello or playing a video game from the collection. Wherever you find me, my dog Ember is sure to be close by!
