I enjoy establishing a caring relationship with patients. I believe in treating the whole person, which encompasses their social connections, interests, belief systems and stresses. People are not just physical bodies.

My mother was Japanese. In Japanese culture, there is a special reverence for the elderly. I went into medicine because I enjoyed interacting with the geriatric population. Older adults have much to teach us, and I have subsequently learned a lot as well.
I have three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and a mixed breed German Shepherd. They are my “pack.” I’m married, and recently moved to the Olympic Peninsula. I enjoy yoga, Pilates, knitting and reading.
