05 May OMP runs “best we’ve ever seen” medical assistant apprentice program

We showed. We wowed. We got this response: “The way Olympic Medical Physicians runs their medical assistant apprenticeship program is the best we’ve ever seen.”
- The Washington Association of Community Health oversees the MA Apprenticeship program for all of Washington, and when it came to OMP, they saw the best.
Why it matters: The OMP MA Apprenticeship program aims to train medical assistants on the job. This means paid on-the-job training opportunities and a career pathway for locals enrolled in a medical assistant program.
- The success of the MA Apprenticeship program at OMP is because of many, most notably a trio of health care workers recently recognized by the Olympic Medical Center Board of Commissioners.
- Stacia Kiesser, RN, Delanie Critchfield, MA-C, and Emily Fry, MA-C, work together to bring the program to life, and their hard work and expertise was awarded with an Employee Recognition Award this month.
What they’re saying: “You’re providing an opportunity to our community members to build a career, and that’s exceptional,” Thom Hightower, RN, and OMC board president, said during the presentation.
Recognized Employees:
- Stacia Kiesser, RN, Clinic Training & Development manager
- Delanie Critchfield, MA-C, Clinical Training & Development supervisor
- Emily Fry, MA-C, Clinical Training & Development program coordinator
