Laboratory Customer Service Supervisor Michael Loucks and the OMC laboratory management team, along with the OMC Board of Commissioners, recently recognized five laboratory assistants for outstanding work.
“During an incredibly difficult time in the lab with staff shortages,” shared Loucks, “these five individuals stood out for their outstanding performances.”
Loucks presented the awards to the following team members:
- Nettie Benson, Laboratory Assistant Lead
- Jamie Burrow, Laboratory Assistant
- Karla Dills, Laboratory Assistant
- Joanna Forcinel, Laboratory Assistant
- Sandra Watne, Laboratory Assistant
Nettie Benson, laboratory assistant lead, was recognized for her outstanding performance working with schedule coverage, her willingness to step in where needed, performing multiple job duties within the lab assistant scope and her ability to teach multiple new trainees at once.
Jamie Burrow, laboratory assistant, is known for the flexibility, reliability and a positive attitude she brings to the lab.
The dedication of Karla Dills, laboratory assistant, shines through her “always cheerful attitude toward coworkers and patients,” said Loucks.
Joanna Forcinel, laboratory assistant, works the overnight shift, and steps in to lend a hand whenever she can. Her positive attitude, even during difficult shifts, is always appreciated in the lab.
Finally, Sandra Watne, laboratory assistant, is known for the breadth of knowledge she brings to the lab. She has been influential in helping where she’s most needed, and her ability to successfully run the registration desk during busy days has been instrumental to providing excellent healthcare to each patient who received care at an OMC laboratory.
