OMC Emergency Department Welcoming New Physician Group July 1

Sound Physicians has 20 years of experience working with hospitals across the state

PORT ANGELES  (June 9, 2022) – Olympic Medical Center has selected Sound Physicians as its new emergency physician group partner, starting July 1. OMC chose not to renew an ongoing contract with Peninsula Emergency Services, Inc. which expires June 30.

“Sound Physicians is a leading physician partner for hospitals across the state and elsewhere who seek to transform patient outcomes,” says Darryl Wolfe, chief executive officer. For 20 years, the medical group has brought high-performing and affordable care models to hospitals, combining physician leadership, clinical processes, technology and analytics to constantly improve clinical care.

Sound Physician’s core values align with OMC’s. The group’s mission to measurably improve quality, satisfaction and financial performance of healthcare delivery through exceptional patient care, deep investments in their people, and performance management expertise, as well as its efforts to align completely with their hospital partners, sets the stage for continued improvements in the emergency department setting.

“PESI has been our physician group covering the emergency department for decades and we have appreciated the efforts of the individual providers who have cared for our community over those years. They have saved lives and provided expert medical care.” says Wolfe. “Health care has changed, OMC has changed and our patients need us to move our emergency department in a different direction. We believe that Sound Physicians’ extensive experience working with other hospital systems, will offer valuable insights and processes, and they will work collaboratively with our emergency department, hospital staff and administration to foster positive change.”
