OMC Board of Commissioners appoint Philip Giuntoli to the Board

The Board of Commissioners of Olympic Medical Center appointed Philip Giuntoli to the Board on Wednesday night. Giuntoli will serve in the remaining term of the late Dr. John Miles; the term expires on December 31, 2023.

Giuntoli was selected from a robust group of eight applicants who interviewed for the vacant Commissioner position in District 3. Following individual interviews with each of the eight applicants, three were invited to Wednesday night’s regularly-scheduled Board meeting for a second round of interviews, with Giuntoli receiving the appointment.

Giuntoli has nearly 50 years of professional experience planning and designing healthcare facilities with architecture firms as well as a 13-year stint with Group Health Cooperative. Since 1997, he has worked for CollinsWoerman – a Seattle-based architecture firm – whose work was critical to the development of the Sequim Campus and Cancer Center remodel between 2003-2005.

Giuntoli earned a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign and a Master’s of Architecture degree from the University of California – Berkeley.

During the final selection, Board President John Nutter mentioned that portions of OMC’s primary facility are 72-years old and determining space needs to serve our community will be a strategic priority over the next several years.  “Phil’s experience in planning and design will be a great skillset to add to the board,” Board President Nutter said.
