Olympic Medical Center Board of Commissioners Seeks Applicants

The OMC Board of Commissioners has extended its commissioner application due date to noon on Friday, May 6, 2022.

PORT ANGELES, WA (April 21, 2022) – The Board of Commissioners of Olympic Medical Center is seeking applicants for a commissioner vacancy in Clallam County Public Hospital District No. 2, dba Olympic Medical Center, Hospital District No. 3.

Qualified applicants must reside in Hospital District No. 3 which is roughly west of Lincoln Street in Port Angeles past the west side of Lake Crescent. Voter precincts for Hospital District No. 3 include: Port Angeles 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, Black Diamond 208, Dry Creek 224, Elwha 230, Freshwater Bay 233, Joyce 241, Madison Creek 248, and Mount Angeles 250.

The position is vacant due to the death of Commissioner John Miles, MD, on February 25, 2022. The most qualified applicant will be appointed to serve until the next general election in November 2023.

Minimum time requirements include two monthly board meetings, the first Wednesday of the month at 12:30 pm, and the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm, and any additional committee work as assigned.

The Board of Commissioners is responsible for governing Olympic Medical Center and its inpatient and outpatient services, as well as major divisions including Olympic Medical Physicians and Olympic Medical Home Health.

The Board will conduct interviews of qualified applicants the second week in May so that an appointment can be made.
