Olympic Medical Center welcomes Elizabeth Schwantor, JD, as associate legal counsel to the organization’s expanding legal department. She joins OMC with more than 10 years’ legal experience practicing family law in Port Angeles.

“As the complexity and volume of health care regulatory and legal requirements have increased, OMC’s need for additional legal resources has become critical,” says Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resources officer and general counsel. “With this in mind, we are excited to announce the addition of Elizabeth to Olympic Medical Center as associate legal counsel.”

After graduating from Port Angeles High School, Schwantor went on to earn Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and political science from University of Washington. She then went on to complete her Juris Doctor at University of Idaho. After graduating from law school, Schwantor returned to the Olympic Peninsula and opened a solo practice where she has focused primarily on family law for the past 10 years.

Schwantor joins a growing legal department at OMC made up of Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resources officer and general counsel, Candace Kathol, contracts manager and senior paralegal, and Jessica Madison, contracts/legal analyst paralegal. The team will handle legal requirements of complex healthcare regulations and contractual agreements pertinent to the organization.

Schwantor is currently a member of various legal associations, including the Washington Defender Association, Clallam County Bar Association, Washington Women Lawyers, and is a Clallam County Law Library trustee.
