Fran Sisson, Lea Alin-Alin Earn Home Health Awards From Home Care Association of Washington

April 12, 2010 - Olympic Medical Home Health continues to receive accolades among its peers. The Home Care Association of Washington (HCAW) recognized Fran Sisson, administrator, and Lea Alin-Alin, home health aide, during their 17th annual awards ceremony on April 7 in Seattle.

“Fran and Lea are very deserving of these awards,” says Pamela Hawney, assistant administrator, Olympic Medical Center. “They are dedicated to their patients, the home health field and their fellow employees. We are proud they are part of our award-winning home health team.”

Hero of the Year

Sisson earned the “Hero of the Year” Award.  Her staff nominated her for this award because they feel her wisdom and insight, in the most complex situations, is extraordinary. She provides guidance and mentorship to her employees and connects with them on a personal level. “Fran checks in with us to see if we’re okay and helps us achieve personal goals,” says Joan Warren, quality care manager, Olympic Medical Home Health. “Fran is also one of the first to help – whether it’s a patient, caregiver or co-worker – she respectfully reaches out and nurtures.”

Beyond Sisson’s personal touch, she is a professional woman who knows the home health business. She maintains her knowledge of advances and programs that will benefit her staff and her patients. Currently, she is providing leadership in a collaborative effort to promote Medicare-certified hospice services in the Clallam County community.

Home Care Aide of the Year

Lea Alin-Alin earned the “Home Care Aide of the Year” Award. Her fellow employees say Alin-Alin is a natural caregiver.  “She performs well in challenging situations and is excellent at putting a patient at ease,” says Sisson. “She works well with patients and staff. She is credited with helping a number of patients avoid a trip to the hospital.”
