Olympic Medical Home Health Named to Homecare Elite for 8th Year in a Row

November 14, 2013 - Despite industry-wide deep reimbursement cuts by Medicare and other regulatory challenges, Olympic Medical Home Health continues to shine on, providing compassionate, quality care to patients throughout Clallam County and west Jefferson County. For the eighth year in a row, the local home health agency achieved HomeCare Elite status as a top agency.

Olympic Medical Home Health has been recognized in the Top 500 four times, as well as the Top 100 four times – one of only 10 agencies in the United States who have been named to the Top 500 or better since the award’s inception eight years ago. It is one of three agencies in Washington State to receive Top 500 recognition in 2013, and the only one in Western Washington.

“We take enormous pride in achieving the Top 500 HomeCare Elite every year. Only nine other home health agencies in the country have accomplished this, and we know in order for us to continue this legacy we cannot take it for granted,” says Fran Sisson, administrator, Olympic Medical Home Health. “The team at Olympic Medical Home Health works tremendously hard to offer this valuable service to our community with the highest level of quality, safety and expertise. The HomeCare Elite award, along with the measures it evaluates, validates our efforts.”

“Our home health agency is simply one of the best in the state and the country in providing great care to patients,” says Eric Lewis, chief executive officer, Olympic Medical Center. “I congratulate Fran and her outstanding team on once again earning this award.”

OCS HomeCare by National Research Corporation, the leading products for home health metrics and analytics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of the respected independent home care profession newsletter, Home Health Line, sponsor the award. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare.
