Heather Delplain Promoted to HR Director

PORT ANGELES  – Olympic Medical Center promoted Heather Delplain to director of human resources.

Delplain has 24 years of HR experience and has worked in Olympic Medical’s HR department for 16 years, having joined the organization in 2003 as an HR Analyst. 

Through her years at Olympic Medical, Heather has excelled in a number of HR roles, including benefits, compensation, leaves, Labor & Industries claims, employee safety and employee relations. Most recently, her efforts have focused on intentional culture, wellness and employee engagement, all of which has Olympic Medical Center a better place to work.

"Heather embodies OMC’s Core Values, and this is a well-deserved recognition of her talent, knowledge and dedication to our organization,” says Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resources officer and general counsel. "I am so proud to promote her to director, and we are thrilled in HR to recognize Heather for her contributions.  We are excited for the future with her leadership and energy.” 

Delplain has a double major from Washington State University in Business Management and Fine Arts. 

Olympic Medical also recently promoted Tammy Hueter to Supervisor of Talent Acquisition in recognition of her increasing responsibility and success in recruitment over the past three years.  "Tammy is respected by leaders and staff for her efficiency and effectiveness. She is an exceptional representative of the OMC Way, our intentional culture of teamwork and compassion,” says Burkhardt. 

With more than 1,500 employees and approximately 110 open positions, the robust human resources department at Olympic Medical functions as a critical support for the organization. The team of 17 includes employee and labor relations, recruitment, benefits, employee health, HR business systems and contracts. Human resources is also a critical link in employee engagement and wellness work.
