OMC Welcomes Ralph Parker, RN, as OMC's New Chief Nursing Officer

PORT ANGELES – Ralph Parker, RN, has joined Olympic Medical Center as the new chief  nursing officer.Parker replaces Lorraine Wall, RN, who is retiring in October. Wall will continue serving as Hospital Chief Operating Officer in her remaining time at Olympic Medical.

"We are fortunate to have Ralph join us. He is an excellent fit for OMC, and his experience working in hospitals of varying sizes throughout the country offers informative perspective as we transform our organization and implement our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan,” says Eric Lewis, chief executive officer. "We are also fortunate Lorraine will be with us over the next few months to lead some important improvement projects. She has done a tremendous job in her time at Olympic Medical Center.”

Parker will oversee all nursing units, including the intensive care unit/telemetry, medical/surgical/pediatrics, obstetrics, short stay and surgical services. He will also lead the emergency services department, including Trauma Level 3-associated work.

Most recently, Parker was the chief nursing officer of a rural hospital in Rawlins, Wyoming. He was also a nurse executive for a time at Wyoming State Hospital, a 104-bed psychiatric facility. He had also served as a nurse executive for more than 11 years in the Banner Health System, where he worked in progressive nurse leadership roles.

Olympic Medical Center (Clallam County Public Hospital District No. 2) is a comprehensive, award-winning health care provider for more than 70,000 residents of Clallam County. It has served the community since its establishment on Nov. 1, 1951, and is governed by a seven-member, publicly elected board. Olympic Medical is a sole community hospital and rural referral center, and a charter member of both the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (2003) and the Swedish Health Network (2011).
