Karen Reeder, RN, Recipient of The DAISY Award
PORT ANGELES – (September 2019) Chief Nursing Officer Ralph Parker, RN, honored Karen Reeder, RN, with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses® at Olympic Medical Center recently. Several patients submitted nominations praising the care Karen provides to them during medication assisted treatment (MAT) appointments.
One stated, “Karen is an awesome RN who is a credit to her profession! I can tell by the way she interacts with me she genuinely cares about me. I sincerely believe it takes a special kind of RN to do the MAT Program. She is professional and kind, caring, empathetic and highly knowledgeable about the disease of addiction and treatment.”
Another wrote, “I have never met a more nurturing, understanding, respectful, empathetic and supportive nurse in my entire life.”
“Karen, my MAT nurse, is absolutely incredible. I absolutely owe Karen my life. If I did not have her, I don’t know if I would be alive,” wrote another patient.
