Olympic Medical Center’s Strategic Development department recently earned two gold, one silver and one merit marketing awards from the Aster Awards and Healthcare Advertising Awards.
“Our OMC team of marketing and design professionals has earned awards from Aster and Healthcare Advertising Awards for three consecutive years. I am very proud to have their work recognized nationally among competition that uses outside PR, marketing and design resources,” says Rhonda Curry, assistant administrator, strategic development. “This year, our graphic design professional and marketing manager, Jeff Anderson, led us in earning these awards through his strong design and conceptual talent, creating clever and visually appealing design themes.”
The Aster Awards
The Aster Awards gave Olympic Medical a gold award for its 10th Annual 10K/5K Fun Run & Wellness Walk ad, featured in the Newspaper Advertising category. The ad, titled “Your Shoes are Lonely”, featured a pair of empty running shoes; urging people to take them out of the closet and go for a walk. Aster Awards gave Olympic Medical a silver award in the Advertising Specialty category for the same design theme, but this time it was featured on the back of the red event T-shirt.
The Aster Awards is a medical marketing awards program allowing health care organizations and advertising agencies to compete against similarly sized competitors from across the nation and world. All entries for each category are placed together for judging by a panel of design and health care marketing professionals with decades of combined experience. Entries are judged on creativity, layout/design, typography, production, quality and overall effectiveness. For more information about the Aster Awards, please go to www.asterawards.com.
Healthcare Advertising Awards
The awards from the Healthcare Advertising Awards also included a gold award in the Imprinted Materials category for the “Your Shoes Are Lonely” 10K/5K event T-shirt. Further, Olympic Medical earned a merit award in the Outdoor Transit/Billboard category for Olympic Medical Center’s “Get the Gist” billboard located near Walmart in Port Angeles. The billboard promotes the medical center’s physician referral line, (888) DOC-6260.
The Healthcare Advertising Awards received nearly 4,000 entries, making it the largest healthcare advertising awards competition. Judges considered entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. The Healthcare Advertising Awards provided 258 gold awards and 240 silver awards. For more information on the Healthcare Advertising Awards, please go to www.hmrpublicationsgroup.com.
