Olympic Medical Center Receives Olympic Leader Award for 2008

February 20, 2009 -

Olympic Medical Center recently received the Clallam County Economic Development Council’s (EDC) Olympic Leader Award for 2008, earning recognition for its economic investment in the community. The EDC presented the award Friday, Feb. 6 at its annual dinner, and again on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Olympic Medical Board of Commissioners meeting, during which Olympic Medical CEO Eric Lewis and Board President Jim Leskinovitch accepted the award on behalf of the medical center. EDC Executive Director Linda Rotmark publicly thanked the medical center for its economic leadership and dedication to the community.

"We congratulate OMC on this award,” says Rotmark. "It has shown a commitment not only to providing quality health care for the community, but also to expanding the economic base of the region through reinvestment in needed facilities and services, especially in east Clallam County.”

Each year, the EDC gives the Olympic Leader Award to a local business that has had a significant impact on the economic growth and stability of Clallam County. Lewis credits the foresight of the board and the support of the community as major reasons for Olympic Medical’s ability to maintain its position as an economic leader.

"Being named Olympic Leader for 2008 is a special honor, as financial stewardship is one of our core organizational values,” says Lewis. "We will continue to reinvest our financial resources in the development of services that will create jobs that meet the growing health care needs of the community. We will also continue to support the ongoing efforts of the EDC.”
