Olympic Medical Center’s Strategic Marketing and Communications department recently earned three gold and two silver marketing awards from the Aster Awards and Healthcare Advertising Awards.
“We have an outstanding group of marketing and public relations professionals in house and I am very proud to have their work recognized among competition that uses outside PR, marketing and design resources,” says Rhonda Curry, assistant administrator, strategic marketing and communications. “Our team has strong graphic design, writing and conceptual talent that allow us to develop affordable, eye-catching and relevant materials in support of the Olympic Medical brand. These awards are reflective of the talent we have here at Olympic Medical Center and in our community.”
The Aster Awards
The Aster Awards gave Olympic Medical two gold awards for its brochure line and its “New Mover” program packet, both unveiled in 2009. The brochure line, entered into the brochure advertising (series) category, consists of a family of six brochures promoting Olympic Medical’s cancer program, cardiac services, diagnostic imaging, home health, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and surgery. The New Mover Program, entered into the “other” category, targets new residents to the area. These new movers receive a post card from Olympic Medical, prompting them to visit a special Web site or call (888) DOC-6260 to sign up to receive a packet that includes detailed information on Olympic Medical Center services and how to locate a local physician. The marketing team also earned a silver award for a promotional emery board that it developed to promote the digital mammography program to women.
The 2010 Aster Awards received approximately 3,000 entries from across North America, as well as South America. The Aster Awards ranks gold winners in the top 5 percent nationally and silver in the top 12 percent. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. Healthcare Advertising Awards
The awards from the Health Care Advertising Awards included a gold award in the special events category for its booth display and activity at the September 2009 Olympic Peninsula Health Fair in Sequim. Event signage, collateral, giveaway items, staffing and activities – all promoting the new digital mammography program – represented the content of the winning entry. The promotional emery board received silver award recognition in the imprinted materials category by this agency as well.
The Healthcare Advertising Awards received more than 4,000 entries. Judges considered entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. The Healthcare Advertising Awards provided 260 gold awards and 250 silver awards. For more information on the Healthcare Advertising Awards, please go to www.hmrpublicationsgroup.com.
