PORT ANGELES – The Washington State Auditor’s Office recently conducted its regular independent accountability audit of Olympic Medical Center (Clallam County Public Hospital District No. 2) covering the period of January 1, 2016 thru December 31, 2016.
According to the audit summary, "in the areas we audited, District operations complied with applicable requirements and provided adequate safeguarding of public resources. The District also complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures in the areas we examined.”
The State Auditor examines areas representing the highest risk of fraud, loss, abuse or noncompliance, and in this audit focused on financial condition, self-insurance, cash receipting and physician subsidies.
"I am very proud of our finance team. They continue to set a high standard of excellence. These results also indicate that many others across Olympic Medical Center are excellent stewards of our public resources,” said Darryl Wolfe, chief financial officer, Olympic Medical.
