PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center and the nurses and healthcare workers of SEIU Healthcare 1199NW are pleased to announce tentative contract agreements were reached on Wednesday, March 28.
Both the hospital and the nurses and healthcare workers acknowledge negotiations have been long and contentious and that it is in the best interests of the community to move forward with an agreement.
Both organizations have stated that patient care is a shared priority. It was essential to negotiate mutually acceptable agreements in order for the parties to move forward. We’re pleased we can put this behind us and work together to advocate for our patients and for a stable healthcare environment in our community.
The agreements will be presented to the Olympic Medical Center Board of Commissioners on Tuesday for their approval. The nurses and healthcare workers on the SEIU Healthcare 1199NW bargaining team will unanimously recommend the agreement and employees at the hospital will also vote on Tuesday to ratify the agreement.
Both parties have agreed to withdraw any pending legal actions.
