Olympic Medical Center Recognizes 11 OMC Employees For Exceptional Work

August 7, 2013 -

PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center’s Board of Commissioners and CEO Eric Lewis recognized 11 employees for exceptional performance and work ethic at the August 7 Board of Commissioners work session.

Lawson Implementation

Lewis recognized nine employees for their exceptional efforts in the implementation of Lawson, the electronic finance, payroll, accounts payable, purchasing and human resources system that works with the medical center’s new electronic health record system, Epic. "Second only to Epic, the implementation of Lawson was one of the most significant undertakings for OMC and hugely impacted our finance, purchasing and human resources staff,” says Lewis. "On behalf of administration and the board we honor these nine employees for going above and beyond their standard roles in an effort to ensure this transition had minimal impact on our employees. Each embraced this change and devoted significant time and energy.”

Employees recognized included: LeAnn Parr and Mark Patton, purchasing; Cathy Martineau, payroll; Jennifer DeCou, accounts payable; Heather Delplain and Linda Landvik, human resources; and Joel Lewis, Mary Square and Darryl Wolfe, finance.

Outstanding Patient Care

Lewis recognized Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator Vickie Everrett for outstanding patient care. "Vickie performed exceptionally well during a period of several months when she worked as the only dietitian and diabetes educator for OMC where we previously had three,” says Lewis. "We have received outstanding accolades from her patients as she devotes herself to providing outstanding care for her many patients.”

Human Resources Efforts

Lewis also recognized Laura Joshel, employee and labor relations coordinator in human resources. Joshel has been a key figure over the past several years in labor contract negotiations and other employee efforts. "Laura has always been above reproach in her role and she is very well respected for handling numerous labor contract negotiations with skill, professionalism and an enduring commitment to obtaining a fair and equitable outcome,” says Lewis. "She retires later this month, and her knowledge and expertise will be greatly missed.”
