The Board of Commissioners of Olympic Medical Center is seeking applicants for a Commissioner vacancy in OMC Commissioner District 1. Qualified applicants must live in OMC Commissioner District 1, which is in Sequim (Voter precincts for District 1 include: Bell Hill, Blyn, Cline, Diamond Point, Dungeness East, Dungeness West, Eagle, Elk, Happy Valley, Jamestown, Miller Peninsula, Olympic, Parkwood, Port Williams, Prairie North, Prairie South, Sunland North, Sunland South, and Sequim Precincts No. 1-6.
The position is open as a result of the passing of Commissioner Arlene Engel, in December 2011. The successful applicant will be appointed to the vacancy that will extend until the next general election in November of 2013. At that point, the position will be open for a two-year unexpired term.
Time requirements include two monthly Board meetings, the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6:00 pm, and any additional committee work as assigned.
The Board of Commissioners is responsible for governing Olympic Medical Center which includes Olympic Memorial Hospital, Olympic Medical Physicians, Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Olympic Medical Home Health, Olympic Medical Imaging, Olympic Medical Laboratory, and Olympic Medical Cancer Center.
