JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Network Administrator provides senior leadership for projects and ensures best business processes are adopted. This position administers, organizes, plans, and directs the various networks at all OMC campuses to ensure that all OMC data, voice, image, and video network systems are maintained at appropriate service levels. The senior network administrator provides leadership in the evaluation, planning, managing, and development of new telecommunications, WAN and LAN technology, and wireless networking, and documents policy and procedures for all network based technology. This position trains and updates appropriate staff on network-based policies and procedures. Strong vendor relation skills are required to ensure high-quality support for maintenance and disaster recovery. Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills, verbal and written skills, mastery of the MS Office applications suite, and experience with monitoring and development tools are essential. Administrator must be able to set and enforce network policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Science in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience preferred 

 

EXPERIENCE

·        Two years’ demonstrated experience of advanced management of both WANs and LANs required

·        Comprehensive understanding of OSI model

·        Experience troubleshooting and performance tuning LAN and WAN 

·        Three years’ experience with complex networks

·        Experience in routing, Vlans, 80211, EIGRP, Firewalls

·        VPN experience with Cisco ASAs

·        Three years’ experience in VMWare virtual networks

·        Knowledge and experience in advanced telecommunication and network system design and access techniques

·        Core competency in standard Linux commands preferred
