Senior Network Administrator

Description:  

JOB SUMMARY

 Provide senior leadership for projects and assure best business practices are adopted.   Administers, organizes, plans and directs the various networks at all OMC campuses to ensure that all OMC data, voice, image and video network systems are maintained at appropriate service levels.  Provide leadership in the evaluation, planning, managing and development of new telecommunications, WAN and LAN technology, and wireless networking.  Document policy and procedures for all network based technology. Train and update appropriate staff on network based policies and procedures. The Senior Network Administrator requires a technical understanding of Advanced Firewall management, SAN, Windows OS, Active Directory, Virtualization and disaster recovery for integration purposes.   Strong vendor relation skills are required to assure high quality support for maintenance and disaster recovery.  Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills, verbal and written skills, mastery of the MS Office applications suite, and experience with monitoring and development tools are essential. Administrator must be able to set and enforce network policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT COMPETENCIES

 EDUCATION

 Bachelor of Science in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience preferred.

 EXPERIENCE

 Five years demonstrated experience of advanced management of  both WANs and LANs is  required.  Comprehensive understanding of OSI model.  Ability to troubleshoot and performance tune LAN and WAN.  Professional understanding of contracts in the network arena.  5+ years in Advanced Virtual Networking.  Skillset testing during interview expected.

 LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS

 Cisco Certified Network Professional certificate / Wireless Networking Credentials.
